March 29th-April 4th: You Want To Play An Instrument??

I don’t even know what day of quarantine were on- 15? 20? 30? It’s hard to tell now that we’re this far into the stay-at-home order.

Musically, I’ve still been fairly busy. I’ve had the chance to continue working on original songs that I’ve started, but haven’t come up with music for. It’s been fun remembering, or trying to remember, the ideas that I had at the inception of some of these songs. Sometimes I have to come up with melodies and chord progressions on the spot, because the original ideas left my train of thought, and that can be really exciting as well!

Unfortunately, The McCoury family gave the word that this year’s DelFest was postponed and/or cancelled. This is a real bummer for folks like me who LOVE attending bluegrass festivals. I understand it’s the right thing to do; it’s just unfortunate the way this years festivals are getting postponed/cancelled. HOWEVER, I am working on something really cool regarding this topic, so stay tuned as to what’s going on!!

As a friendly reminder, I am still teaching online music lessons from my home. If you’ve been wanting to learn guitar, mandolin, electric bass, or upright bass, feel free to contact me, and let’s discuss options for you to be on your way to the main stage!! As far as musicians in the western PA area, I believe I’m the only person currently teaching flatpick guitar and bluegrass mandolin, and I’ve had the experience with the pros to back my methods! I hope to hear from you soon!

As always, stay safe, don’t touch your face, and stay 6 feet away! See you next week!
