June 7th-13th: My First Gig In Months!

This week was very satisfying, to say the least. Not many things, but the things that did happen had important significance.

Saturday was the first show I’ve played in months (since like, March…I think.) I thought for sure that I would have forgotten how to pack my stuff, how to set it all up, how to run the monitors, how to sign and play AND tap the preamp buttons with my feet, all at the same time-but I didn’t. It was like nothing had ever happened; that I had been playing shows all along, and this was just another day. It felt really great to see people out and about, playing with their kids, eating great food and drink, soaking up the fantastic weather we’d all been missing so much. I can’t wait for my next gig, wherever that may be! I’ll try to keep y’all posted on updates about that.

Friday, I continued working over my good friend Steve Ludwig’s record, adding harmony vocals. All morning, I was in and out of the booth, tracking takes, and then plopping down at the desk to quickly edit. 4 songs in 4 hours-perfection. I then did some other things, like restring my guitar and make homemade meatballs, but the highlight was the recording-I really needed it, and I got it. What a day. I’m hoping to have his record tracked within the next week or two, so it’s coming-I promise.

Finally, My social media hit the fan this week. I honestly couldn’t believe it when I saw it, but it happened-WE MADE IT TO 1,000 FOLLOWS ON FACEBOOK!! Absolutely fantastic folks! You’re unwavering support has made this happen, and the next 1,000 followers are coming from you folks. You’re the pioneers, the true followers-spread the word now! It only goes up from here!! I had wondered what to do about this milestone. I posted some stuff, and people were dying to see a LIVE show (which I hope to get back into the groove with.) Until then, I think the best way to show appreciation is to have a livestream show, dedicated to all of you! This evening, I’ll be on-there’s more info on my Facebook page, so check there!
