February 16th-22nd: Sick Week(end)
As the title of this week’s blog easily describes, this last weekend I fell ill to a dreaded cold, and was quickly put out of commission up until today (I also have an ear infection accompanying the cold-the perfect duo, am I right?) Now that I’m starting to feel a little better, I’m keeping up with my promise of having content for you to read over here.
I did manage to get some things done-one of which was going back through my song ideas on my phone, and hammering out some of those ideas. 1 solid song came out of that, called “Turn Bad, Turn Good” and I continued editing what I think is a killer hit called “(He Needs) No Introduction.” Right now, I feel like I’m in a kind of dead zone of writing. I’ve been working through my writers block, trying to look for inspiration for my next song, but haven’t found it yet. My hope is that this weekend will formulate some awesome ideas, which brings me to my next topic-what gigs do I have?!?
This week was very slow, partially due to the fact that everyone involved with the Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? show is getting back into gear and preparing for that. This weekend, has a myriad of events going on. Friday, I’ll be in attendance at the Lake Erie Folk Fest up in Euclid, Ohio, as they are hosting Carolina Blue, and allowing them to put on a master class for bluegrass musicians. I hope to do some networking with these folks as they are very connected to the scene as a whole. Saturday, I’ll be in attendance again, but I MAY leave early to go to Oil City, PA for the Oil Country Bluegrass Festival. It’s a great local festival with great musicians, so if you’re in the area, check it out! This year the festival is hosted by the Moose Lodge up there (not sure on the address for that.) Finally, Sunday I’ll be at Missing Links Brewery with The Well Strung Trio from 4-7 PM. It expects to be fine weather, so come grad food, brew, and tunes at one of Butler’s coolest up and coming establishments!
Well, I think that’s all I have right now for you. For anything pressing, hit the ‘Contact’ tab, or find me on Facebook or Instagram. See you next week!
